A Canadian national in Bahrain had his five-year prison sentence upheld on appeal on 24 January 2012. He was arrested after taking part in protests in March 2011. Amnesty International calls for the charges against him to be dropped. [ Lire la suite » ]

The trial for Chinese artist and activist Wu Yuren has now been scheduled to take place on 17 November at Wenyuhe Court in Beijing. Wu Yuren was detained in May, and allegedly beaten by the police. He has been denied access to medical treatment. [ Lire la suite » ]
