Muhammad bin Abd Rab al-Amir bin Ali al-Shammari (previously spelled Mohammad Abdul Amir) an Iraqi national aged 36, was arrested in 1995 and charged with the murder of a Saudi Arabian man. He was executed in the town of on Arar, near Saudi Arabia's border with Iraq, on 23 November.
He confessed to the crime after being interrogated for three months, during which he was allegedly tortured. A criminal court in Arar, sentenced him to death after a summary and secret trial. He had not been allowed any access to lawyers. [ Lire la suite » ]

Abdul Hamid bin Hussain bin Moustafa al-Fakki was executed on 19 September 2011.
Abdul Hamid bin Hussain bin Moustafa al-Fakki, a Sudanese man aged around 36, was sentenced to death by the General Court in Madina on 27 March 2007 after being convicted of sorcery. Two women who were detained after being arrested at a protest in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, on 3 July were released on 5 July.
Rima bint Abdul Rahman al-Jareesh and Sharifa al-Saqa’abi were released in the early evening on 5 July. Rima bint Abdul Rahman al-Jareesh was reported to have been released after a male guardian was told to act as a guarantor for her release. [ Lire la suite » ]

A 25-year-old teacher was arrested on 4 March during a protest held in Riyadh calling for reform. On 2 March, a video of him calling for protests in support of the fall of the monarchy was posted on YouTube. A 27-year-old Saudi Arabian man is reported to have been sentenced to 500 lashes and five years’ imprisonment by a court in Jeddah for the criminal offence of homosexuality, among other charges.
